Cllr Brian Collins, Cathaoirleach of Kells Town Council and a candidate for Labour in the County Council Elections has said that the return of a bus service to Carlanstown must not be sacrificed by Bus Eireann as they seek to cut back 320 jobs across the country.

“The people of Carlanstown have waited too long for the return of their service.  Many people bought houses in Carlanstown believing they would have an adequate bus service.  The cessation of the service has caused a lot of hardship.  Everyone must now work together to make sure that this Service or indeed any of the North Meath Bus Services will not be sacrificed by Bus Eireann.  Every other area of the country will be lobbying to keep their services.  It is imperative that we make a lot of noise about this and protect our vital bus routes.”
